FAQ's

My Philosophy

I'm inspired by everyday, seemingly ordinary details. I'll never tell you to smile or perform a trick, I take honest photographs that are natural and moving. Whilst I do include some styled and posed shots, I specialise in lifestyle portraiture which means capturing plenty of the in-between bits; real, pure and raw - the moments you might otherwise forget.

What is a session like

For most of your session I'll be observing, unobtrusively capturing real moments of your life. Life is messy, chaotic, vibrant and unpredictable. It's a genuine privilege to hang out with you guys and document you just as you are, no bells and whistles needed!

Where is a session?

I love to shoot in client's homes as a fly on the wall and in the great outdoors where you can run free.  I know some great spots for location sessions where we'll get a rugged and wild backdrop and you'll have plenty of space to explore and have fun. If you choose a home session, whatever the style of your house, it really doesn't matter as long as you have some pretty, natural light. I'm not there to shoot your interior but to capture you guys doing what you do within it. I like the quirks of your house, the imperfections and the stories it has to tell.

Do you travel for sessions?

I've recently moved from London to East Sussex and I have a large existing client base in London. I am now offering select dates in London locations so do get in touch if you want to be added to the wait list for those as the dates are released. I also travel around East Sussex and Kent for sessions and am happy to come meet you wherever is convenient for you and your family. Please bear in mind that a travel charge may be applicable for some locations - If you're interested in commissioning me for work outside of my local area, please do get in touch and we can discuss further.

How do we book with you?

Simply fill in the form on my Say Hello page, drop me an email or give me a call. We'll work out suitable dates, discuss the type of session you are looking for and finalise the booking by signing a contract and taking a deposit.

How much time do you typically need for a session?

For newborn shoots I allow around 2 hours to build in time for changes and feeds. My home and location sessions are up to 1.5 hours give or take.

How many photos will we receive?

Whilst you'll notice I'll take a number of pictures during your session, I only pick the best of the best to ensure every photo you receive, you love. On average I'll deliver around 60 images ensuring the full set gives you plenty of variety to help build your story. You'll receive your high resolution digital images in your own password protected online gallery ready for you to download.

Do you do sell prints or printed albums?

Yes, I offer beautiful fine art prints in a range of sizes and finishes. The colours and tones of these professional prints are unrivalled by any kind of printing you can access on the high street because of the Giclée fine art printing process used. They will last for years without discolouration and make impactful wall art because of the rich finish.

As well as prints, I work with a 100% handmade, handcrafted album producer to create mind blowing picture albums for those of you who prefer to have a book to present your images in. You can see these products on my Products and Pricing page.

Will you keep our photos offline?

If you're here reading this then I'm assuming you've seen my work somewhere and were curious to see more. I'm also assuming that by visiting my portfolio you've been able to get a really good feel for my style by looking through a rich variety of images that demonstrate what I'm capable of. There is nothing quite like showcasing work as an artist, because it pulls people into the moments of family magic, of love, of tenderness you've captured and pushes them to want that for themselves. All my shoots are booked off the back of work I have put out into the world and shared. Pretty much every shoot I share, results in another family finding me and another booking being made, which enables me to continue making art for myself and for others and helps keep my business sustainable. Some families want the images I take of them to stay offline and I truly understand that, those moments are precious and personal. However by doing this, I am faced with a loss of potential future clients who may not find me otherwise and consequently a loss of revenue. For this reason, I charge an exclusivity fee equivalent to the cost of the session itself for families who wish to keep their images private, to make up for at least one potential shoot that I won't be able to book because those images are now under lock and key. Thank you for your understanding.
