With the birth of a first born comes the birth of a mother too. Women are strong yet soft, selfless and generous, warm and nurturing. Photographing women as they embark on the journey of motherhood, from pregnancy through to birth and beyond is something that inspires me in my work more than anything. So often women hide in the shadows - behind the camera or away from the spotlight telling ourselves we aren’t good enough, beautiful enough. But I see you. I see you shine so brightly when you cradle your baby in your arms or stroke your toddler’s hair. I see you as you grow new life, devoting your body to the tiny life you’ve created.

As a newborn photographer, I come to every photoshoot with the goal of capturing you just as you are in the moment as a mother. To let you bask in the glory of your own beauty and strength and to show you how incredible you are. I want the photographs we create together to be ones your children will hold dear for years to come. So that they can see you too, just as you are. So they can see how loved they were and how lovely you are.

I’ve been a newborn baby photographer for over 8 years now and I still get butterflies when I see women mothering. As a mother myself I know how precious time is. The newborn days are blurry and messy and beautiful all at the same time. I work in a relaxed and gentle way as a photographer. My newborn photoshoots flow organically, allowing time for feeds, changes and lots of soothing and settling so that neither you or your baby feel rushed or pressured to perform. Photographing motherhood isn’t about perfection, it’s about embracing life in the present and capturing the magic in the imperfections.
