Columbia Road with Me&Orla

One of the things I love about my job is working with some talented, creative people who share my passion for simple, storytelling portraits.

I had a wonderful morning at Columbia Road Flower Market in London's East End with Sara from the gorgeous blog Me&Orla I felt very honoured to spend a couple of hours with her and her family, taking mostly reportage, lifestyle photos of them enjoying a little day out in London, a city escape from their idyllic life in Yorkshire.

If you haven't read Sara's blog do check it out. She writes beautiful posts on motherhood, living simply and intentionally and life in the country. It's no surprise her stunning instagram account has gathered over 100k followers who love to stop by and see little snippets of her simple life as a mother in the Yorkshire countryside.

We met at The Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green where she was staying, before heading to Columbia Road Flower Market. The hotel was beautiful and as we explored some of it's knooks and crannies we stumbled upon a lovely old greyhound dog - the hotel's very own permanent resident, who made friends with Orla in no time. 

The flower market is one of my favourite London locations to wile away a few hours on a sleepy Sunday so when Sara said she was headed to the Big Smoke, it seemed like the obvious place to center our family photoshoot. Amongst the blooms, the chaos of the market and the crowds, this little family shared the sweetest, intimate moments.
